The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will deliver on Thursday, December 12 its Preliminary Overview of the Economies of Latin America and the Caribbean 2019, the organization’s last annual report of the present year, in which it will update its growth estimates for the region’s countries in 2019 and projections for 2020.
The publication will be presented by Alicia Bárcena, ECLAC’s Executive Secretary, in a press conference at the Commission’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile, at 11:00 a.m. local time (UTC/GMT -3:00).
The event will also be broadcast live on the Internet via the institution’s Web site.
Just like previous issues, the Preliminary Overview will analyze the economic performance of the region throughout 2019, the international context and macroeconomic policies implemented by countries, while also providing an updated outlook for 2020.
Members of the media are invited to participate in the press conference, which will be held at ECLAC’s headquarters (Av. Dag Hammarskjöld 3477, Vitacura, Santiago, Chile, Celso Furtado Room). Journalists must have their media credentials or their identity documents with them to gain entry, and they must request accreditation beforehand by writing to prensa@cepal.org.
The complete electronic document, including economic analysis fact sheets for each of the region’s countries, and a press release, will be available on ECLAC’s web site on Thursday, December 12, as soon as the press conference has ended.
