The Third High-Level Regional Dialogue on Transport in Latin America and the Caribbean was inaugurated at ECLAC’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile.

Investments should total around 6.2% of GDP but by 2015 the amount was only 2.3%, according to the INFRALATAM database.

From 7 to 11 November, authorities, business leaders and international experts will gather in Santiago, Chile, at a series of meetings to discuss the sustainable use of natural resources and infrastructure in the context of the 2030 Agenda.

The initiative aims for that mechanism to be used as a tool for planning and public policy.

The presentation by Li Keqiang, which will be broadcast live on the Internet, will take place on Monday, May 25, at the UN organization’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile.

Greater interconnection will enable the infrastructure deficit to be resolved in a better way, will promote more social equality and will reduce the asymmetries between countries.

The meeting will take place on 29 and 30 October in Santiago, Chile, and will bring together government officials and regional experts.
