The Road to Bern initiative consists of a series of events leading up to the United Nations World Data Forum (UNWDF).
Through a series of five webinars, DANE and CEPEI, in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation and its Road to Bern program, seek to promote the commitment of public and private sector actors (including business, academia and civil society) with timely and quality data for sustainable development. The events cover the four thematic strands included in the Road to Bern program: data for social responsibility, more and better data financing for better decision making, gender statistics, and leaving no one behind. This will be ensured both through the theme of the webinar itself and through the guiding questions included in each of the webinars.
In this first meeting, in the framework of the Twentieth Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of ECLAC, the "Road to Bern" initiative will be launched in the region, which includes the "From LAC to Bern" webinar series.
