The Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean held their fifty-first meeting from 17 to 19 November 2014 in Santiago.

At this meeting, the Presiding Officers was consider the activities for the implementation of the Santo Domingo Consensus adopted at the twelfth session of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean. Representatives of the ECLAC secretariat and national machineries for the advancement of women were report on their participation in meetings that have special relevance for the Presiding Officers. In addition, on this occasion the secretariat was present a new publication prepared by the Division for Gender Affairs of ECLAC.
In follow-up to the Round table on Beijing+20: outlook and challenges, held in Santo Domingo in 2013), the agenda was include a special session on Beijing+20 in Latin America and the Caribbean, organized jointly with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women). This was a forum for discussion and regional consultation on the issue in the region. The conclusions and recommendations were presented by the Chair of the Regional Conference to the Commission on the Status of Women, at its fifty-ninth session.
