This meeting is part of the road map for the preparatory process of the XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, whose implementation is led by the Government of Mexico, in accordance with the agreements adopted at the sixty-sixth meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, held in Santiago from 4th to 5th December 2024 in ECLAC Headquarters in Santiago, Chile.

On this occasion, delegations exchanged on the advances of the position document and the proposal of organization of work of the XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, which will be held in Mexico City from 12 to 15 August 2025, and whose theme will be political, economic, social, cultural and environmental transformations as a means of advancing the care society and gender equality.
