The first meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Committee on South-South Cooperation of Latin America and the Caribbean was held in Lima on 27 November 2012. This had been elected at the thirty-fourth session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
The meeting was attended by representatives of the following countries, which had been appointed to serve as Presiding Officers: Brazil, Chile, Cuba, El Salvador, Peru and Uruguay.
