In this video, the Executive Secretary of ECLAC, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, explains the main conclusions of the Commission's flagship report "International Trade Outlook for Latin America and the Caribbean 2022".

The report states that goods exports from Latin America and the Caribbean increased 20% in 2022, but growth is down from previous year (27% in 2021).

"The prospects for world trade in 2023 are not good, due to the persistence of the conflict in Ukraine, the tightening of monetary policies, the deceleration of the world economy, the energy crisis in Europe and the worsening of the pandemic in China", says the United Nations high-ranking official.
