Briefing note
As the world struggles with challenging global problems, researchers and decision-makers are looking for new methods to solve them. Citizen Science - the inclusion of citizens, their contributions and dialogue with the public in research is spreading across research communities and universities and is a possible answer. In Europe, several Citizen Science hubs or centres opened in the last few years and research libraries are playing a role. This presentation gives the WHY for libraries and outlines examples, services and recommendations.
Thomas Kaarsted is the Deputy Library Director at the University of Southern Denmark and the Director of the University’s Citizen Science Knowledge Center in the library. He has worked with Citizen Science since 2017, has been a project manager for a range of Citizen Science projects and is Co-Chair of the LIBER Citizen Science Working Group.
Join us live on Zoom for the chance to have your questions personally answered by Kaarsted during the Q&A session. The webinar will be streamed Thursday 22 June from 11:00-12:00 (Chile time) and it will be conducted in English. Register here.
