CELADE, in order to continue supporting national institutions in the use of census data, offers the 2011 version of the course on processing and analysis of demographic information using the Redatam Software. The course objective is to define process and create sociodemographic indicators to facilitate local planning. The participants will work with the new Redatam 7

Emphasis will be made to the processing and analysis of information coming from population and housing censuses with priority in the generation of indicators in the following areas: education vulnerability, estimation on habitat deficit, specification of target groups (third age, adolescents, indigenous population) and their socio-demographic characteristics, migration and UBN estimation.

As in previous Redatam workshops a two days optional introductory course of Redatam Process module will be offered free of charge prior to the workshop (March Thursday 24 and Friday 25) for those participants that don't know the Redatam tool and wish to assist to the complete workshop.

The course will take place at ECLAC headquarters, CELADE-Population Division, Santiago, Chile. The course will be given in Spanish.
