Femicide

Violence against women is a violation of human rights. The figures of violence in Latin America show the persistence and severity of the problem, for women and society as a whole; It is not possible to speak of full democracy as long as the violence against women remains a reality. In Latin America, 4 out of 10 women have suffered physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. Addressing violence means having relevant information for addressing prevention, treatment, punishment and reparation.

This November 25 is the Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the start of the 16 days of the UNiTE campaign to end violence against women, with emphasis on prevention.
