Third Edition of the Latin American Artificial Intelligence Index to Be Presented at ECLAC on October 3
Work area(s)
The launch of ILIA 2025 will bring together government officials, representatives of international organizations, and leaders from the private sector and academia.

On Friday, October 3, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and Chile’s National Center for Artificial Intelligence (CENIA) will present the results of the third edition of the Latin American Artificial Intelligence Index (ILIA). The report was developed with the support of the European Union–Latin America and the Caribbean Digital Alliance (EU–LAC) and a broad network of academic, public, and private partners.
ILIA represents a pioneering effort to systematically measure the progress of artificial intelligence (AI) across 19 countries in the region. The 2025 edition provides an updated overview of advances and challenges in AI in Latin America and the Caribbean, drawing on 100 sub-indicators organized into three key dimensions: enabling factors (digital infrastructure, human talent, and data); research, development, and adoption; and governance.
This strategic tool is designed to inform public policy, highlight good practices, and promote regional and international cooperation around the use of AI as a driver of productive development, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
The program will feature the official presentation of ILIA 2025 findings, followed by three high-level thematic panels on adoption, talent, and infrastructure for the AI era.
