Launch of the Gender Equality Bulletin - No. 4: Time for Care in Latin America and the Caribbean: Towards Social and Gender Co-responsibility, jointly prepared by ECLAC and the ILO.

The bulletin provides an analysis of the progress made in maternity, paternity, and parental leave in Latin America and the Caribbean, and outlines the challenges to advancing measures such as long-term care leave, emergency leave, reduced working hours, and the alignment of paid and unpaid work schedules and locations. Additionally, it highlights that these regulatory tools must be available to both men and women, as they are key to fostering co-responsibility, ensuring the right to care, and achieving gender equality.

This event will serve as a space for comments and reflections among representatives of governments, trade unions, and business organizations, which is essential to advancing greater social and gender co-responsibility in the labour market.
