Past events

  • X Meeting of the Regional Technical Committee (CTR) of the project. In-person event from November 14 to 16, 2023. San José, Costa Rica.

  • Workshop on Economic, social and ecological evaluation of public investment projects with the incorporation of DRR and ASICC elements. They have the objective of strengthening the capacity of formulators and evaluators of public sector projects in the process of economic, social and ecological evaluation of public investment projects for a better integration of DRR and ASICC that ensures the continuity and better quality of services. of road infrastructure, water and sanitation, in the face of climate risks. Held in El Salvador, on October 9 to 13; in Nicaragua, on October 16 to 20; in Costa Rica, October 30 to November 3.

  • Workshop on Economic, social and ecological evaluation of public investment projects with the incorporation of DRR and ASICC elements: Honduras, September 4 to 8; Guatemala, September 18 to 22; and Panama, October 2 to 6.

  • Workshop on Geographic Information Systems in Central America and the Dominican Republic. The objective of the workshop is to have a space for the exchange of experiences between technical officials of public institutions related to spatial data infrastructures and other institutions that generate and use geospatial information from the partner countries of the RIDASICC Project, to evaluate the GIS platform, its use within the framework of geospatial data governance, identifying potential uses in public investment projects, and providing feedback on the inclusion of variables related to disaster risk and the response to the climate emergency. August 17-18. San Jose City, Costa Rica.
  • Technical Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Sustainable and Inclusive Adaptation to Climate Change (ASICC) in public investment projects in the drinking water and sanitation sector. The objective of the meeting was to hold a space for exchange and learning between officials responsible for public investment projects in the drinking water and sanitation sector in Guatemala, Panama, and El Salvador and other experts participating in the processes of the RIDASICC Project to learn about and provide feedback on the proposals for tools that should facilitate the integration of DRR and ASICC in the projects to ensure better quality and continuity of the service in the face of rising climatic risks. July 25-27, 2023. Guatemala City, Guatemala.
  • Technical Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Sustainable and Inclusive to Climate Change (ASICC) in public investment projects in the road infrastructure sector. The objective of the meeting was to hold a space for exchange and learning between officials responsible for the identification, formulation, evaluation, design and execution of road infrastructure investment projects and other experts in the sector to learn about and provide feedback on the tools developed in the framework of the project and that seeks to facilitate the integration of DRR and ASICC in the projects in order to ensure better quality and continuity of the service in the face of current and future climate risks. July 10-12, 2023. Panama City, Panama.

  • Regional workshop Reducing the risks of disasters and the climatic emergency in investment projects in drinking water and sanitation. The objective of the workshop was to have the contributions of experienced actors in public investment and drinking water and sanitation to strengthen methodologies, tools, and processes of learning-by-doing aimed at the formulation of drinking water and sanitation projects that better integrate the reduction of risk of disasters and inclusive and sustainable adaptation to climate change that improve the quality, coverage, and continuity of this service. Organized by ECLAC, COSEFIN Executive Secretariat, and Global Water Partnership Central America on April 20 and 22, 2022.
  • Experience exchange workshop Latin America on the incorporation of measures for disaster risk reduction (DRR) and for sustainable and inclusive adaptation to climate change (ASICC) to public investment processes. The objective of the event was to know, analyze and disseminate to the officials responsible for the SNIPs of the COSEFIN/SICA member countries the experiences, lessons learned, and best practices of Mexico, Chile, and Peru on the incorporation of measures for DRR and ASICC in the processes of formulation and evaluation of public investment projects. September 24, 2021.
  • Workshop Methodologies and results of climate change scenarios applied to the Central American region and the Dominican Republic and exploration of sources for the historical temperature and precipitation data and their use for public investment. June 22, 2021.
