The Latin American and Caribbean Demographic Center (CELADE) - Population Division of ECLAC has joined the Secretary-General’s UNITE campaign to put an end to violence against women, which this year adopted the slogan “Ya es Ya” in Spanish (Now is now) within the United Nations system in the region.

The 50 Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean invited the Technical Secretariat of the Declaration to present the process on Principle 10 in Latin America and the Caribbean. The presentation offered a general overview of the process and referred to the links between gender and Principle 10.
