High-profile Caribbean leaders and decision-makers, including the Premier of the British Virgin Islands, are set to explore how innovative laws can boost climate finance in Caribbean SIDS at the event titled “Climate Change and Environmental Legislation in Support of the Delivery of the New Programme of Action for SIDS”. The initiative is being convened by the Parliamentary Observatory on Climate Change and Just Transition (OPCC), on 29 May 2024 in Antigua and Barbuda, as a side event to the 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4).

Parliamentarians including the Speaker of the House, President of the Senate, government ministers, opposition MPs and independent senators actively participated in a Masterclass on Data and Statistics for Decision Making, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in collaboration with the Parliament of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
