The Argentine economist will replace Mexican diplomat Alicia Bárcena, who concluded her mandate on March 31 after nearly 14 years at the helm of ECLAC.
Alicia Bárcena received this important distinction from Mexico’s National Institute of Public Administration for her contribution “to strengthening the country’s prestige abroad.”
Alicia Bárcena met with senior officials from the country and participated in a seminar on the economic development of Latin America and the Caribbean island.
