With Chile serving as the host country, the Ninth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society in Latin America and the Caribbean will be held on November 7-8. Prior to this, on November 5-6, the EU-LAC Digital Alliance’s High-level Dialogues will take place.

These three South American countries, categorized as “pioneers” in the ILIA 2024, have shown maturity on the three key dimensions studied: enabling factors; research, development and adoption; and governance. They have made particularly notable efforts in technological infrastructure, specialized talent development, scientific productivity and innovation capacity. The measurement included 19 countries from the region.

Trinidad and Tobago legislators are enhancing their understanding and knowledge of data, statistics and artificial intelligence (AI) for improved legislation and sustainable development. Parliamentarians including the Speaker of the House, President of the Senate, government ministers, opposition MPs and independent senators actively participated in a Masterclass on Data and Statistics for Decision Making, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in collaboration with the Parliament of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
