The regional commission’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, participated today in a solidarity event for forcibly displaced persons and the communities that host them, organized by the governments of Spain, Guatemala and Costa Rica, with the support of UNHCR and the OAS.
The meeting, which was postponed in 2020 due to the global health crisis prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held at ECLAC’s central headquarters in Santiago, Chile using a hybrid model, meaning a mix of in-person and virtual participation.
