"2015 will be remembered as a year of human suffering and migrant tragedies. Over the past 12 months, more than 5,000 women, men and children lost their lives in search of protection and a better life", Ban Ki-moon pointed out.
"We mark this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities in the wake of the adoption of the ambitious 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development", Ban Ki-moon says. This global blueprint for action summons us to "leave no one behind”, he adds.
"As we shine a light on this milestone anniversary, let us reaffirm our commitment to a better and brighter future for all”, says the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, on this day that marks the 70th anniversary of the United Nations charter.
