Government authorities, international officials and representatives of civil society commemorated International Women’s Day at the regional gathering that is taking place in Costa Rica.
ECLAC’s Executive Secretary delivered a virtual keynote lecture in the framework of a series entitled Post-2030: Women Leaders for a Sustainable Future, organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
In a discussion organized by the Mexican Senate, Executive Secretary Alicia Bárcena warned that women are the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and advocated for a feminist social compact with equality and sustainability.
Ministers for Women’s Affairs, specialists and representatives from the civil society gathered at ECLAC posed the need for concrete plans and programs to guarantee gender equality in the framework of the 2030 Agenda.
