Authorities and specialists inaugurated an international seminar entitled “Inequality Gaps in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean,” which is taking place through Wednesday, June 21 in San José, Costa Rica.
In the framework of the SICA Regional Forum 2019, ECLAC’s Executive Secretary delivered a keynote speech in which she sustained that inequality, poverty and migration are the basis of the widespread social disenchantment affecting the region.
Latin American and Caribbean countries are exposed to extreme natural events that can unleash disasters, depending on the vulnerabilities of each. The sectors most at risk are those with high social vulnerability.
