To contribute with its partners to the design, execution, and monitoring of public policies that promote sustainable and inclusive development in the agricultural sector, rural areas, and the food and nutritional system, with special attention to comprehensive risk management, food and nutritional security, and sustainable agriculture-adapted climate change. Ministries of Agriculture, the Central American Council of Agriculture (CAC) and its Executive Secretariat within the Central American Integration System (SICA) framework.

Lines of work:
Within the framework of the agreement between ECLAC and SECAC, and following the orientation of the Climate-Adapted Strategy of Agriculture promoted by CAC, the subregional headquarters of ECLAC in Mexico has been executing a variety of actions, including technical assistance and analysis for the formulation of public policies in the following topics:
- Agricultural and rural development
- Food and nutritional security
- Statistics and Information Systems
- Comprehensive Risk Management and Agricultural Insurance
- Impact of climate change on agriculture and food and nutritional security and response options
