The Thirteenth Session will provide a valuable opportunity to strengthen high-level dialogue and technical cooperation among Member States, thematic networks and regional organizations, with a view to advancing the implementation of regional priorities and the global frameworks promoted by the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).
As part of the agenda, a high-level strategic dialogue will be held among Member States on the implementation of the Regional and Subregional Strategic Priorities 2025–2029, aligned with the UN-GGIM Strategic Framework 2025–2030. This dialogue will provide an opportunity to exchange national experiences, identify common challenges and discuss strategies to strengthen regional cooperation, promote knowledge exchange and accelerate the implementation of these priorities in the countries of the Americas. The conclusions of this dialogue will constitute a strategic input to guide the work of UN-GGIM: Americas during the next intersessional period, strengthening the implementation of the Regional and Subregional Strategic Priorities, cooperation among Member States and the coordination of regional actions aligned with the UN-GGIM Strategic Framework 2025–2030. Likewise, the session will provide a forum for sharing good practices, presenting regional initiatives, strengthening partnerships among Member States and generating new opportunities for collaboration that contribute to strengthening regional cooperation and implementing the Committee’s programme of work.
