About the event

The Eighth Ministerial Conference on the Information Society in Latin America and the Caribbean is jointly organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Government of Uruguay. The Conference aims to define a set of digital policy priorities at the regional level within the framework of the Digital Agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean (eLAC) with a vision beyond 2022. The Conference will bring together key digital leaders and decision-makers from the public sector, the private sector, the technical community and civil society.  Digital technologies are essential tools for boosting productivity and growth, and have significant effects in various areas critical to development such as health, education, and government.  That is why the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consider access to these technologies and the Internet as one of their main goals.

The conference will be broadcast via streaming
