Description

This is an intensive hands-on training and will be conducted in Spanish. The course will have duration of 76 hours during ten days. It is aimed at professionals, technicians and users in general with experience and knowledge in data management and processing and ideally with some knowledge of Redatam. This workshop is part of the technical advisory activities that CELADE-Population Division continuously provides to national institutions related to the use and dissemination of sociodemographic and sectoral information, especially population census and surveys.

Place: The course will take place at ECLAC headquarters, Santiago, Chile.

Costs:  The fee of the workshop is US$ 500 for each participant.

Note:  The fee does not include other costs such as transportation, lodging, food, etc. These costs are responsibility of each participant or of the funding institution.

Programme

Durante el taller se mostrará todo el proceso de migración de bases de datos sociodemográficas (censos o encuestas) provenientes de fuentes externas de tipo DBF, SPSS, CSPro o ASCII hacia el formato Redatam. Además, se desarrollará, mediante Redatam Webserver, una aplicación web que permita el procesamiento en línea de los microdatos, logrando así la diseminación de información a través de la Internet.

Al término del curso los participantes habrán aprendido a crear bases de datos en formato Redatam con el módulo Redatam7 Create, a analizarlas y a tabular variables con el módulo Redatam7 Process. Además, habrán diseñado y habilitado una aplicación web de diseminación utilizando el servidor local IIS y la plataforma Redatam Webserver.
