The growing proportion of older people in Latin America and the Caribbean represents one of the most significant demographic phenomena of the 21st century. This transformation requires robust public policies that promote inclusion, social protection, and respect for the human rights of older people. The main objective of the course is to promote the importance of anticipatory governance and legislative foresight in the parliaments of Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly in relation to public policies to address population ageing and improve the living conditions of older persons.
