Hidden Treasures – Cultural diversity: Indigenous and Afro-descendant Rights in the Region

Selection of historical documents available in the ECLAC Digital Repository regarding indigenous and afro-descendants peoples

9 August 2017|Briefing note

Ten years ago, on 13 September 2007, the General Assembly adopted the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, a major milestone with respect to the cooperation and solidarity between indigenous peoples and Member States.

We highlight below some documents and publications of ECLAC published between 1979 and 2009, which carry out an analysis and evaluation of the situation of indigenous and afro-descendant people in the region.

These and other documents about this topic can be found in the ECLAC Digital Repository, 37.000 documents and publications, from 1948 onwards, in one place.
