The meeting will take place on September 26-28, 2023 with the purpose of sharing experiences and best practices in the promotion, prevention and protection of people who defend the environment.
The Conference in Panama also marks the Second Meeting of the Presiding Officers of the Regional Conference on Social Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, a subsidiary body of ECLAC.
Representatives from Latin America and the Caribbean will make progress in the application of Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.
