Chinese Premier Will Give Keynote Lecture at ECLAC

The presentation by Li Keqiang, which will be broadcast live on the Internet, will take place on Monday, May 25, at the UN organization’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile.

Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, will give a keynote lecture on Monday, May 25, at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile, where he will be received by the Executive Secretary of the regional United Nations organization, Alicia Bárcena.

The event will be held at 3:45 p.m., local time in Chile, in the Raúl Prebisch conference room. It will also be broadcast live on the Internet via ECLAC’s website: ://www.cepal.org/es/cepal-en-vivo

The senior official will visit Chile during a tour to numerous South American countries, including Brazil, Colombia and Peru, which will take place on May 18-26, 2015.

According to the Chinese government, the objective of the trip is to deepen cooperation in areas such as industry and technology, as well as in fields such as the development of infrastructure, the formation of human resources and financial support.

For security and protocol reasons, members of the media who want to attend this event must confirm their attendance by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, to the following email address: prensa@cepal.org.

Attendees must also enter the conference room on May 25 by 3:30 p.m. at the latest.

Journalists who did not register previously, or who do not present valid personal identification, will not be allowed access to the event.
