Introduction

The Caribbean Knowledge Management Centre (CKMC) supports the research mandate and work of the ECLAC/CDCC secretariat and provides reference and information services in this regard. It is located within the office of the ECLAC Subregional Headquarters for the Caribbean in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. In addition to library and information technology services, the Centre is also responsible for work programme activities in the areas of knowledge management and information and communications technologies for development (ICT4D).

Mission

To provide an increasingly modern and efficient information service to the member countries of the Caribbean Development and Cooperation Committee, with a view to strengthening their capacity to bridge the digital divide and bring the goal of a Caribbean information society, knowledge economy closer to realization.

Overview

The Caribbean Knowledge Management Centre promotes access to the intellectual output of ECLAC through digitization and cataloguing services for resources in the ECLAC Digital Repository, physical and virtual book displays and participation in local and regional book fair events and related activities. The library also provides access to print and electronic information through an online catalogue and aids researchers in the form of bibliographic research, reference and circulation services, interlibrary loan and document delivery services.
