Proposals and solutions for Small and Medium-sized enterprises in Chile
FUNDES investigation with the support of the University of Chile and ECLAC concluded. The investigation originated the publication "Desarrollo se escribe con PyME", that performs a diagnosis of the obstacles that limits the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the country. Also, includes a characterization of these enterprises to formulate recommendations to promote its competitiviness.

Colombia: Social, economic and institutional scenery of the present coffee crisis.
The economist, Luz Amparo Fonseca, indicates in this document that the coffee plantation activity in Colombia is presently going through a structural crisis. The social situation is preoccupying, as there are more than 500 thousand families that live of the coffee production and have suffered a continious impoverishment during the last decade.

International Seminar on 'Natural Resource-Based Clusters: Its Growth, Distributive and Environmental Aspects'
The "Natural Resource-Based Clusters: Its Growth, Distributive and Environmental Aspects"(ECLAC/Netherlands' Government BT-HOL-97-S75)project has carried out a series of case studies on "clusters" of natural resources in Latin America during the last years, from which ECLAC has achieved a knowledge on this area, that has materialized in technical counseling and assistance at local government level.
