Results are now available from the eLAC2007 Working Groups about Regional infraestructure, Telework, Research and education networks and Legislative framework:
Regional infraestructure (Goal 1): The group worked on infrastructure, interconnection and the Domain Name System or DNS.
Telework working group (Goal 5): The group promoted ICT capacity-building for the development of new forms of work and telework, encouraging their application for local job creation in particular.
Research and education networks working group (Goal 10): The group developeded advanced ICT-based networks for research and education at national and regional levels while also strengthening existing networks, such as the CLARA network.
Creative and content industries working group (Goal 13): research the development and challenges they face, while setting up cooperation mechanisms and seeking solutions sush as financing and distribution, in addition to enhancing local production capacity for content that reflects cultural diversity and identity.
Legislative framework group (Goal 25): The legislative framework group promoted and developed policies for harmonizing laws and standards with a view to the establishment of reliable legislative frameworks that provide security at both the national and regional levels to support the development of the information society.
