 | The Second Regional Conference Follow-up to the World Summit for Social Development, was held at ECLAC?s Santiago headquarters, in Santiago de Chile.
The meeting included a review of progress in implementing the Action Plan approved by the Social Development Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995. There, more than 160 countries agreed on a plan to rescue countries from the suffering caused by poverty, unemployment and social exclusion, while governments set concrete goals for meeting their commitment to ending all forms of poverty.
